Project Newnes

Project Newnes is an independent public interest initiative focused on reducing the risk of explosive bushfires through prevention, practical capability, and the application of proven methods.

KartaSoft supports the initiative and is lending technology that will be implemented during the coming year (2026-2027) to support prevention and early risk identification. The purpose of Project Newnes is advocacy and coordination around prevention rather than the promotion of a commercial technology program.

The initiative exists to encourage collaboration between scientists, land managers, infrastructure operators, communities, and government to address a challenge that is both national and global in scale. The focus is simple: prevention where it matters, using methods that are already proven to work.
